"Beckett (8-5) struck out four and walked two. His departure raised some eyebrows because he took the mound for the seventh inning and tossed some warmup pitches. After a few throws, Wiley and trainer Sean Cunningham trotted to the mound, checked the status of Beckett's middle finger and quickly signaled to the bullpen.

"I'm fine," Beckett said. "It was precautionary."

Beckett exited to a large applause.

"We just wanted to make sure he was fine," Wiley said. "It was precaution. Nothing to it. I knew everybody would wonder. He was terrific. One hit."



Looks like he should be fine, I doubt the Marlins would lie about injuries like other organizations.

Can't they do a skin graft or something to cover his fingers? Take some tougher skin from another area. I don't understand with today's technology and the amount of money involved, they don't have an answer to a little blister problem.
