What do you think? What I consider the 7 realistic candidates, in ABC order*:

Mark Buehrle - 10-1, 2.42, 122.2 IP, 110 H, 17 BB, 79 K, .242 BAA; 2nd in AL in IP, ERA; 3rd in WHIP, CG; off to his best start yet

Matt Clement - 9-1, 3.33, 102.2 IP, 96 H, 32 BB, 82 K, .247 BAA; Headcase getting his ish straight?

Bartolo Colon - 10-4, 3.02, 110.1 IP, 104 H, 23 BB, 82 K, .248 BAA; 3rd in AL in W; quietly putting together stellar year

Jon Garland - 12-3, 3.25 ERA, 108.0 IP, 96 H, 19 BB, 53 K; Leads AL in wins; breakout year for a hyped young buck

Roy Halladay - 11-4, 2.40, 131.0 IP, 107 H, 16 BB, 98 K, .222 BAA; Leads AL in WHIP, IP, CG, ERA; 2nd in BAA; 3rd in K; workhorse returning to form after down year

Kenny Rogers - 9-3, 2.46, 98.2 IP, 93 H, 33 BB, 44 K, .253 BAA; 3rd in AL in ERA; almost as effective against out-of-shape cameramen as against opposing hitters

Johan Santana - 7-4, 3.78, 112 IP, 88 H, 21 BB, 131 K, .214 BAA; Leads AL in Ks, BAA; 2nd in WHIP; 3rd in IP; Having a better year than W-L / ERA would indicate; best stuff yet to come? (His owners hope so) :-D

*stats are as of Thursday 6/30.

halladay without a doubt. if harden didn't get injured he would've had my vote.

I too voted for Doc. Having him on my team I've been able to see how dominate he's been. I almost went with Buehrle but the fact that Hallday's numbers are better and that he has less to work with the Jays than Buehrle does with the Sox aided in my pick.
