Johnny Bench - The Reds great made two All-Star appearances in the 80's before hanging it up in 1983.
Gary Carter - This recent HOFer dominated the 80's behind the plate with Montreal and the Mets. Winner of 3 Gold Gloves, he made 9 All-Star appearances, plus was the league leader in RBI's in 1984. Oh and he also has a nice WS ring to show too.
Jody Davis - Was a Wrigley Field favorite for much of the decade, Davis picked up a Gold Glove in '86 and was a two-time All-Star.
Terry Kennedy - Kennedy was a 4-time All Star in the '80's and helped the Padres reach the World Series in 1984.
Mike LaValliere - Winner of a Gold Glove in '87, Mike was a key player in some great St. Louis and Pittsburgh squads.
Tony Pena - Great defensive catcher that provided some pop at the plate as well. Winner of 3 consecutive Gold Gloves (83-85), Pena made 5 All-Star appearances.
Benito Santiago - Just getting started in the '80's, Benito made his mark with the Padres starting in 1986. He won the NL Rookie of the Year in 1987 and also snagged two Gold Gloves and an All-Star nod befofe the decade ended.
Mike Scioscia - Scioscia proved to be a highly reliable catcher for the Dodgers through the entire decade. He got an All-Star nod in 1989.
