I saw it today. It was exactly what I expected. Typical pop-corn muncher. Underwhelming story, but insanely cool special effects. Personally, I normally like it the other way around, but it wasn't that bad. Normally I'd say don't bother to waste your money in the theater for it, but the problem with that is, the appeal of the movie is the cool special effects that are enhanced by the theater.

Saw it today, and personally thought it was a great movie.
The effects were amazing and the sotry and the acting was pretty good. Never saw/read previous ones, but pm if you want to know how this one ended.

One word.....disappointing.

The acting was good, the effects were awesome, but the story was just not there. WAY too many things left unexplained. And, I won't ruin the ending, but the movie is a whole buildup, and then the ending is less than 2 minutes.

No, the ending was not changed. I thought it was a pretty good film. If you read the book you won't be dissapointed. They actually followed the book more than I thought they would, and they didn't make up a wild ending.
