I've only been playing for 2 years and wonder if how my team ranks. I've made a couple of trades and think I'm doing pretty good, aside from my starting pitchers.

I found myself trying to guess how your draft must have went. Having both ARod and M. Tejada on the same team is almost unheard of. That's a fantastic start. Maybe you made a trade for one of them (?).

Thome was probably next at # 3, he seems to be ready to finally bust loose. M. Young was probably your # 4, and he's been hitting real well lately. But who were you taking with your # 5 - # 10 picks? You should have been able to get OF's like C. Lee or J. Damon or B. Giles or V. Wells or J. Bay, etc. Your OF seems kind of mediocre.

And did you pick up your whole pitching staff off the waiver wire (except Mussina and Percival)? It's not a bad staff, but I bet hardly any of those guys were drafted. You must have missed on a lot of your pitching draft picks.

In one of my leagues, the first 3 pitchers I drafted were Sheets, Ollie Perez, and Mota - and thought I'd done well. Auuuuuughh!!

moving Young, Tejada or Arod for a OF and/or SP. Include any of your young SPs who others might think have potential to get an ace.

I had drafted Hampton, Bedard, Perez, Benitez, so, yeah, I had to hunt for pitchers. I actually picked Percival off the wire too. Traded for Hermanson. Had Guardado, but traded him away in a package deal for ARod, along with Sheffield. What SP should I go for and who do you think I should offer...

I would look for Garland, Willis, or Bueherle, but make sure you are getting offense in return

Now you're team is starting to look pretty good. You've got yourself a stud 1B, stud SS, darn good OF, and a stud pitcher with a few average closers. I'd look to package Vidro and Young for another upgrade at pitcher yet.
