How close do you think they're going to look? Because if they're serious about it, FDISK and file deletion isn't going to cut it.

Not sure about that. He didn't say why he needs to send his PC to them. They could be installing AV software and then they have to figure out why he wiped out his HD. And they could still find what they need if they know what they're doing.
