I was just reading Wright's contract and apparently his 3 year contract isn't as cut and dry as it seems.
If Wright doesn't spend at least 75 days on the DL during 2005 and 2006 with a shoulder injury, he gets a player option for the 2007 season.
If he does spend at least 75 days on the DL with a shoulder injury during this year and next year, the 2007 season becomes a team option.
Wright has already spent at least 65 days on the DL this year with a shoulder injury, and will be sidelined much longer, thus turning his 3 year contract into a 2 year contract.
I guess that's one positive you can take from the injury, aside from the fact that even if he were healthy, he sucks.
