Email question

Postby Mookie4ever » Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:29 pm

I've had a domain name reserved for about three years for business. I don't want to set up a website but I want to use that extension for email.

example - I have Mookie.com reserved and I want to use mailto:Wilson@mookie.com as my email address but I don't want to set up a mookie.com website.

How do I do this? How do I do this cheaply? Do I need a server and all of that?

Thanks for the help.

Unless the website offers email you will need to setup an email server I believe...

Buy a cheap box and put linux on it and run an email server like that...how to do it I'm not really sure...but yea I think you will need to set up an email server
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

Easiest and cheapest way is to go through a email hosting service like Webmail.us. It's like web hosting without the web site. They set up the domain name and the base package is 5 email account, 100 MB per, for $5 per month.

I'm kind of surprised Elishashouse.com is available. Better hurry! :-B

I've always wanted one specific address so that I could one day post this:

"Yeah, just e-mail me at mailto:n@ked.com."
