Rogers pulls a Kevin Brown

Postby TheYanks04 » Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:28 pm

Rotoworld:
Kenny Rogers broke a bone in his non-pitching hand when he hit a water cooler in frustration after his start on June 17 and will miss at least one start.
The Rangers revealed today that Rogers broke a bone at the base of his right pinkie finger. Rogers might go on the DL because of the injury. John Wasdin or minor leaguer Edison Volquez could replace him in the rotation

What a complete and utter moron.

I actually had the exact same headline but there's an earlier thread about this that beat me to it.

For a second I thought Rogers had single-handedly brought the Rangers a new stadium...because that's pulling a Kevin Brown.

Pulling a Kevin Brown...

Definition:
1. An incredibly stupid act, usually detrimental to one's self and others.
2. Finding inane and lame excuses for one's own ineptitude and suckitude. "The mound was not right", for example.
3. Achieving the almost rabid hatred of certain elements of the core Yankee fan base. This has been accomplished by only 2 other players in recent history, namely Vazquez and Weaver.

4. Getting San Diego a new ballpark due to his incredible pitching.
5. Everything else you said ;-D

All I know is that if the Rangers lose the west by 1 or 2 games, I would not want to be Mr. Rogers.

Kenny Rogers, Danny Kolb, Bernie Williams...what do they all have in common?

They have all had malicious hexes placed on them by those innocent looking ice coolers.
Bold Predictions:

Grady Sizemore will have more value than Jason Bay regardless of draft position

Aramis Ramirez in 155 G will hit over .300 40 HR 110 RBIs

Brian McCann will have more value than Jorge Posada regardless of draft position

can't you pitch if you have an injury on your NON-pitching hand? :-?

just wrap it up and stick it in your glove. :*)
