I haven't seen his name mentioned once all season. Talk about under the radar.
He has a higher WHIP than the other top pitchers, but his K's and ERA are almost identical to Pedro's.
Yahoo's ranking is garbage. Period.
Wonder if Yoda thinks Yahoo's rating is garbage?!
While Carp shouldn't be the #1 pitcher on any board, he's having a great season thus far. If he continues this into the 2nd half, he'll be a Cy Young candidate for sure.

Despite Yoda's emphatic denouncement, Yahoo's rankings are not garbage. They provide a nice measure of overall current performance for 5x5 leagues. Their O-Rankings are garbage, but their regular rankings aren't (assuming you only play standard 5x5 roto).
Carpenter has been having a fantastic season, and his all around pitching contributions make him the top fantasy (5x5 roto) pitcher so far this season.
Of the 5 guys who have 10+ wins (no one has 10 actually, they all have 11 or 12), he's right in the middle of the 5 in ERA and WHIP, while he has 20 more Ks than the next best, and 30 more than the 3rd best of that group. Of the four guys with 110+ Ks, he has 3 more wins than anyone else, with an ERA of just about the same as the other 3 (with the exception of Santana whose ERA is a point higher). Simply put, he has more combined wins and Ks than anyone else by far, with an ERA that is well under 3 and a solid WHIP. Rather under the radar, but clearly the top pitcher at this point for fantasy 5x5.

Clearly Yahoo weighs countables at a much higher value than the averages. Halladay is ranked behind Carpenter despite the same number of W's, better ERA and a much better WHIP. Makes no sense.

carpenter having a super season is not that big of a suprise to me at all... he was more than solid last year as well, but with the injury at the end of the year,,, alot of non cards fans dont know alot about him since he did not pitch in the playoffs....... that offense helps him along with his great pitching ability.... but the reason why he is rated above halladay is due to the k's...... he is definitely making a case for himself to be a top 10 SP pick in drafts next year.....
