Just another reason why stats need to be put into context when you rank prospects. Some of these are ok and some are so off it's really mind boggling.

His 12 starts from high A. Stat cutoff was June 12th. They cite his control problems will hamper him in the majors. Obviously, it seems that he may have a handle on it now.

so, Felix hernandez is a 19 yr old completely dominating AAA and there are 15 prospects better than him. what a joke.

As to Verlander, he had a reputation for lack of command because he was averaging 4-5 walks/9 innings his last year in college.
I think they are going by that. His performance this year shows excellent control.
He was listed at throwing 97+ before. Now it's 95.
Could it be that he has eased a little off his arm speed and that has given him better control?

Well, I'll agree that this list is puzzling but - from what I know - he has a history of being pretty accurate.
