Thome hasn't done jack lately. Would benching him for Huff be a good idea or no?

Well, so far it hasn't made much difference. Thome: 0-2, Huff, 0-1.

Thome went 0-4 BB, and Huff is currently 1-4 run.

I agree that you typically don't bench your studs, but a left handed Thome against a left handed Zito, just made sense to start Huff instead. Especially with Thome slumping.

Same question for Sunday - Thome is facing Mulder and Huff is facing T. Redding. I'm thinking Huff. Thoughts?

I'd go with Thome on Sunday. Mulder has a 4.76 era on the road and a 1.41 whip. Mulder doesn't scare me like Zito does. Huff has the easier matchup, but I'd go with Thome.
