Thus far this season:
14G/ 47AB/ 5R/ 14H/ 2 2B/ 1 3B/ 1HR/ 6RBI/ 9BB/ 13SO/ 3SB/ .298 BA/ .441OBP...
Not amazing but what really stands out are the nine walks and .441 OBP.
He certainly deserves the 2 spot in the lineup and it seems Yost has conceeded it. With Bill Hall and Carlos Lee hitting behind him and .441 OBP Weeks will have plenty of oportunities to run and to score.
As the supreme optimist I think Weeks will be a premier 2B the rest of the season.
What does the Cafe think of that?

While the information is interesting, I really dont see why this should be a sticky.
Many indicators point to Weeks having a solid rest of the year.

Agree. Weeks is a tremendous prospect, and may well become an All Star down the road.
But a permanent spot in the Leftovers lineup? Even Pujols doesn't have one of those.

It would not surprise me one bit if Weeks was a top 5 rated 2B the second half of this year. He is said to have 40/40 potential, its just a matter of how fast he adjusts to the majors.

Yes, I fell in love with Weeks after the first time I saw him bat, I love his Sheffield stance. He should be Alfonso Soriano status in 1 or 2 years.

I've had him stashed for quite some time this year and I'm glad he's finally being able to play everyday. He's replaced Biggio for me for now. Although Biggio had a great week last week, I love young players. Especially as mentioned, the Sheff swing. He has such quick hands that he was told by Mil to pick that stance up in order to slow his hands down. It's helped him alot so far. Plus, it looks sweet! I love having a mini-Sheff for my 2B.
