Out of the Park 6 -- Baseball Simulator

I was wondering if there is any video game or computer program out there that allows you to be a GM of a Major League team and handle all aspects that a real GM would have to deal with?

Basically like a video game except you don't actually play the games, you simulate them and have to build the team, deal with finances, build minor league system, make trades, etc.?

I thought there used to be a program like this but I could be wrong. Anyone know anything about it? If there is one, does it actually have real players names or is it just like made-up people ( :-P ).

I ran a search and found Baseball Mogul 2006... 8-o 8-o

This is much more advanced than I was even thinking. I downloaded the free demo and it looks great. Does anyone own it? Any feeback on it? Better programs?

Baseball Mogul is a lot less sophisticated than Out of the Park baseball.

The only downside to OOTP is that they use fake names. But there is a forum about it where you can tweak the names.

OOTP 6 is far and away the best baseball simulator on the market. You can download files from the OOTP site that contain real player names and such, so it's not a big deal to get it going.

It's much better than Baseball Mogul, I've played both.

I've tried OOTP and Mogul, and I vastly prefer the former to the latter. However, now that I'm on Mac, I prefer nothing since I cannot play them.

I checked out OOTP.com and it does seem much nicer.

However, I'm only going to get it if there is a way to get real players names into the game for certain. Is this the case?

Also, for those of you who own it, what is the best method of purchase? Download it for the computer or have them mail you a CD-ROM?

Thanks for the help guys.

Any advice guys? I'm going to try to get it as soon as possible and I'd appreciate as much feedback as I can get.

Did you just pay for the download or did you have them mail you the CD-ROM? What's best?
