Actually they saved alot of money on that deal, and Loazia was pretty good in the playoffs.

I agree. I'm surprised that no one mentioned Dreifort. At least Belle, Mo, etc. the insurance picked up their salary.

Also wanted to mention Bobby Bonilla when he signed with the Mutts. Giambi is pretty bad, Hidalgo was pretty bad and I nominate Beltre for the 05 season.

i don't know many million a year firemen and cops. Otherwise I'm in the wrong profession.

One more to add to the list, Theo Epstein's WORST move as Sox GM (and he's had only a few bad ones, thankfully) but this was a doozy:

Byung-Hyun Kim -- Two years, 10 million. :-P

But believe me, we Sox fans certainly gave Theo a mulligan on that one.
