Reds placed infielder Ryan Freel on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19, with turf toe.
He'll be eligible to return on July 4. Until then, the Reds will use Rich Aurilia at second base.

Jun. 30 Ryan Freel (OF) Cin, who is eligible to come off the disabled list Monday, is expected to run and hit before today's game, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Freel is out with inflammation in a toe on his left foot.
