Placed on the 15-day DL with sprained MCL in left knee!! I was really hoping that he would step in as the Pirates closer but that may not happen now!!

This is almost good, since I have the DL spot to stash him and he was clearly not right over the last couple weeks (high walk totals + low K's).
He's been wearing a bulky knee brace — when have you ever heard of a pitcher doing that? — and one report I read claimed he would need it the entire season. But that was before he was shelved ... best case is he comes back strong over the last couple months (perhaps at the trade deadline ?), but all we can do is wait and see.
