Florida Marlins' Team name?

Florida Marlins' Team name?

I am not sure if this has been brought up before. But I heard that some guys on Atlanta radio talking about the Florida Marlins' team name.

They said the the plural for Marlin is Marlin...that is without the "s."

So the word Marlins is not correct.

Stanford's team name isn't after the bird 'cardinal' but after the color 'cardinal'.

:-? I don't get why it isn't plural then if the Cincinnati Reds pluralize their team name, which is a color; Stanford doesn't pluralize their team name. Eh, who cares? Stanford sucks. Go UCSB!

But the correct plural form of leaf is leaves :-)
