I hope you're right. I have Klesko, Tejada, and Burrell on my team and am in 3rd place. If those guys turn it on in the 2nd half that could be the push I need.
uhm. vladimir guerrero is one. he's still a hefty trade, but if you can get him for less than normal value, if you dont think his back problems will be anything serious, he usually goes apesh1t during the last few months of the season, hitting .350+ with good power. last season he ended up getting derailed from his power when he started pressing for 40/40, but he's one of the best 2nd half players out there.
Well now that Vlad is going on the DL with his back problems, I would advise against paying full price for him in a trade. When he does come back, they almost certainly won't let him steal bases to risk reaggravating the injury. If you can get him cheap, go for it, but it's now pretty clear he won't perform like a first round pick this year.
i'd still try to get vlad while he's down and out. the guy is simply too good of a player to pass over if you can get him on the cheap, steals or otherwise. unless he's got an albert belle degenerative back, then try to get him for a bargain price and watch as he hits .380 or something like that this august.
Yeah, if you can get him for like a Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones or Austin Kearns I would do it, but I would not give up a Magglio Ordonez, Bobby Abreu or Manny Ramirez for him at this point.
Up until now i was offered any OF i wanted for Vlad. Now i probably couldnt get jack rabbit do-do for him.. So i'll have to sit and pray he can bounce back like Arod has. God almighty this sucks!!!
