What is wrong with Mike Lowell?

I made a thread like this before with Jason Schmidt, and since then he pitched 16 consecutive scoreless innings. Now I am curious if anyone knows what's the deal with Mike Lowell? He's been slumping throughout the year, is hitting .223 (as of Thurday, 6/23), and has a measley 3 homeruns. What happened to the powerful third baseman that the Marlins used to have?

Seems to be the mystery of the year. I had him to start out the season. About a month ago, I traded him for Piazza. Haven't thought of it as all that great of a trade, but pretty even because Piazza is a catcher, and you expect more out of 3rd basemen. At this point, the guy I traded with has already dropped Lowell. I have occasionally thought about dropping Piazza, but haven't because there just isn't anything better available. Right now he plays backup to Pierzynski for me.
