the team is solid. Might look at another closer. who's on waivers? That might help to know who you might want to move. overall, though:

offense ;-D
starting pitching ;-D ;-D

there's no more closers left on FA, except weathers. it's really quite dry.

You have some pretty good depth in your pitching staff, but you also have a few pitchers you could possibly deal away for other stuff. I like most of the trades you did, you should do more! You seem to have improved after every one except the thome trade.
Your outfield is pretty good- if Andruw keeps things up. He never has before, maybe you should try trading him. He's hot.
I don't know why you got Thome. I have him also and he's pissed me off. You gave up way too much for him- I doubt he'll do anything much more, although you never know- he has great potential. Helton had a higher ceiling although both of them suck now. What categories are you good at and what are you struggling in?

i agree w/ selling high on garland, ill try to rate all ur trades.

1-turned out to be bad for u but i wudda done the same before the season
2-i like that both when u did it and for now
3-i love that both when u did it and for now
4-i wudda done that when u did it but it came back to haunt u
5-i LOVE that buy low on a jones, a jones>>green, hoffman=batista
6-i like that trade a lot, a mediocre utility player for a top closer
7-wow, u ripped that guy really bad
6 & 7=figgins for ichiro, VERY nicely done
8-is okay, i dont love it or hate it
9-i like this one, klesko is WW material and reitsma is okay while hudson can be a stud
10-i dont love it or hate it, thome is HEATING UP, he is returnin to his old self but givin up HELTON and two mid-tier closers is a lot

thx for helpin on mine

you're probably right and i should probably trade andruw high, but i can't shake off the feeling this will finally be the year he hits 40 homers and possibly 120 rbis? probably falling into the trap of deluding myself just cuz of a hot streak ....

the reason why i got thome was because in the past month he's hit 5 homers while helton's hit 6 all year. i think thome's coming around. also, it kind of scares me that there's no explanation for helton's sudden suckiness (steroids?), while with thome we know that his back was bothering him and that he just needs to stay healthy. but yeah, i think i might have given too much ....

i seem to be pretty strong in the hitting categories, and more inconsistent in the pitching.

thanks for the help.

Good, solid well-balanced squad. Unlike earlier poster, I like your bats more than your pitching, but your pitching is solid. Like the earlier poster, I would try to sell high on Garland. Other potential sell high guys - maybe try to flip bill hall pretty quick while he is riddiculous hot. Do need to maybe add a RP, if possible, maybe flip Garland/Silva/Hall, etc. for a SP you know you can count on in the second half. As far as trades, I like the Thome pick-up, you looked at the 3 year averages and figured that Thome is due some production, that is smart. I LOVE the A. Jones pick-up. Even if he doesn't continue at this pace, (who could?) he is going to have a great year and you basically gave a bag of peanuts for him, that was genius. ;-D

thanks.

i've been trying to shop garland for a long time now like everyone's recommending, but no one's biting. i guess the others don't believe he's a safe bet either. instead of giving helton + hermanson + brazoban 4 thome, i could have also done helton + hermanson + garland 4 thome + zito. should i have done that one instead?
