Rios/Gibbons

To me, both are fringe players to have on a fantasy team. That said, who do you think will post better numbers the rest of the way?

I've heard reports of Gibbons being squeezed for PT. Don't know how valid they are, but if they are, I'd take Rios from here on out. If Gibbons will be in that lineup every day, I like him.

Gibbons is a given in the HR department, as much by default as anything else. Rios has VERY LITTLE power so far though i DO think it will come in time. Rbi i give the slight edge to Gibbons. Everything else goes Rios's way.

Rios will prolly get more Ab's but doesn't have Gibbons power

if you are only looking for power...than gibbons is you guy...but if you want a guy who will help you across the board...then take rios.

gibbons AVG is a little higher than is career AVG, so i expect it to drop a bit. his HR numbers will be good and he will also help you in RBIs, but rios will help you everywhere else and his RBI total might be close enough to gibbons to make him more valuable.

as for PT...rios will play everyday...there's no way the jays are gonna sit him...he'll be the RF for a long time. gibbons will also play a lot...but not everyday like rios. actually the difference of AB between the two is only about 20.

Rios plays every day and will give you decent average and speeed, sometimes RBI's, but his power is undeveloped. Maybe someday it will be there, but not this year. Even playing half-time Gibbons would probably give you better power numbers.

The best part of Rios' game is actually his defence, he's got a wicked arm in RF, and runners are rightfully scared to go for extra bases against him. Best OF arm the Jays have had since Jesse Barfield. Of course, none of this will be helpful to you in any way in fantasy ball.
