He should be the 4th OF, but may work himself into the starting lineup, unfortunately. I personally don't like the signing, as I'd like to see the kids get their chance.
But, just passing along the news. Check out sfgiants.com for confirmation.

why exactly did the D-rays drop Sanchez in the first place??? I thought I heard that him and Piniella had problems can anyone confirm that? That hurts Ellison owners

I thought it was a power move to show Lou who was in charge. Sanchez was their best player the last motnh, and Lou bitched about not trying to win, so he got cut.
I can't see Lou not liking the guy, he was tearing it up. I think the owner/GM came in and tried to put Lou in his place.

as a giants fan i highly dislike this move. first off, why bring in another outfielder when they have enough already, and also i think that it is the young guys chance and to push them out at this point is bad for the franchise. i realize that sanchez isnt a bad player or anything but he's not the right fit for the giants.

i understand the drays released him because he has no ability at all in the OF and with jonny gomes hitting, there just isn't a need for him on their roster. also factor in that he has the most hollow batting average of pretty much any ball player in the game
