I've been following the news on Schmidt very closely this year and everything I've read has sounded incredibly similar to the reports about Halladay last year. With that said, I was almost certain that his year would end up the way Halladay's did last year. But after his last two starts who knows, maybe the little rest that he took was all his arm needed. So, what are everyone's thoughts on Schmidt, is now the best time to trade him or his he gonna start performing like the stud he has been in the past?
I traded him a couple of weeks ago for Smoltz and Marquis. So far, Smolt has been his equal and Marquis hasn't. lol
I watched him pitch last night and he seemed to have his A game. Maybe it has something to do with the Christian Fellowship meeting he participated in Tuesday night. Anyway, aside from the pitch he threw about 12 feet high in the 9th inning, I thought he could have pitched a complete game shutout. I may have sold too soon, but if Smoltz keeps it up, I won't regret it as much.
Hang on to him for a few more starts if you can afford to.

Yeah, maybe god wants him to win?
And anyone who needs advice to hang onto Schmidt instead of waiving him should rethink their fantasy baseball prowess...
He topped out at 95 a couple of times, but was routinely in the 90-93 range.
He no longer can blow by batters to get them out, so he's learning to become a better "pitcher." I think he'll continue to have a couple up and down games, but it looks like he's coming out of his funk.

I don't think anyone's talking about waiving him...is he at his best trade value right now, that's what I'm wondering. If he's throwing in the low 90's that's not too bad, but I still seem to think he's struggling from arm fatigue which could affect his value throughout the year.
