Pitch Williams agains Toronto?

Postby gses » Thu Jun 05, 2003 3:18 pm

The Blue Jays scare me and I'm afraid the will rock Woody and screw up my era and whip. Im in a roto league so picking quality starts is imortant. LAst night I pitched Miller,Nomo,Meche, and Kim all of which had solid outings. Pitch Woody tonight or not?

Woody lost his last outing, and he will be facing his former team... He will bounce back and pitch fine. Start him.

I'm starting him. He's been too good not to and the game is in Stl. If the game was in Tor, I might be a little more hesitant.

I'm starting him as well. Plus, looks like your ERA and WHIP are already very low w/ the outings you had last night. Always play your studs. And Woody is a stud this year.

I am also starting him. Since joining the Cardinals three years ago, he has given up more than four earned runs only once in a start. That makes him one of the safest starters you can have.

My prediction: he'll give up 5 runs through 6 innings, but will get the win.

Wow, you could not have been more wrong. Never bench your studs.

Yeah, whoever benched Williams tonight has to be reeling in pain right about now. He is one of the most consistent pitchers in the league, and almost never gets shellacked, so always leave him active. The only thing that ruined it was La Russa not letting him finish the game to get the CG and SHO.
