The Toronto Sun reports reports there has been recent talk
about the Blue Jays making Ted Lilly and relievers Miguel
Batista and Scott Schoeneweis available for trade.
Batista (2.59 ERA) earned his 13th save of the season in
Wednesday's 3-2 win over Baltimore.

The Toronto Sun also reports that the Conservative Party is a viable option in this country.
I'll believe some of this news when I see it. Lilly doesn't get along well with the pitching coach, so I would not be surprised to see the Jays deal him, but it doesn't make sense for the Jays to deal their closer and their only lefty in the bullpen, that would leave them very short at those spots. They would presumably have to get something back to help them in those areas if they were to do that. In other words, Batista or Schoenweis probably aren't going anywhere..

they'd have to get some prospects if they were to deal those guys, but i don't know who would be willing to give any serious prospects for bautista, etc.

What happened to the new plan? All the extra millions in budget to be sunk into the team in the next few years. Dealing these guys would not help the situation. Dealing Lily wouldn't be a big deal but I don't know why they would deal the two relievers. Why deal peices that you will have to fill eventually.

Was that sarcasm?
I thought the post I made in the Closer Watch thread was pertinent.
Apologies if some didn't find it 'useful' enough.
