Corey leadoff again Thurs:

0-4. 4 K's. Not even a foul ball off Sheets. Hopefully that experiment is over...again.

I've thought it over and I'm going to ask Dusty to move me to the leadoff spot. :-D

I'm the commish of my league and I'm thinking of changing the stats so that Corey Patterson stops being a pain in my side. K's are good! OPS is bad!

Never thought I'd be considering Grady Sizemore and Ryan Church off the wire with salivation.. (sigh).

Early in the season I had D. Lee, Morneau and Sexson as 1B and could only play two of them. LuGon hadn't done anything in my OF and I really believed after watching him play last year that this was 'the year' for Corey Patterson. I traded my least productive 1B (Sexson) and LuGon for CPatt.

I can't believe I'm still ahead 105-88 in first place in a 12 team 5x5 roto league after that trade and the one that shipped off D. Lee, J. Kent and J. Schmidt to bring back J. Varitek, Ichiro and R. Clemens (there were more players involved but you get the idea...). But I'd definitely take those trades back at this point. I just figured I better get D. Lee moved before he 'cooled off'. Yep...that was at the start of May. :-t

So, I went from Sexson, LuGon, D. Lee, J. Kent, J. Schmidt and some players that don't matter to CPatt, J. Varitek, Ichiro, Clemens and some players that don't matter. Way to go bonehead. :-P

not only has it been tried, it's been beat to death and has been an unmitigated failure, just like anywhere else he's been put in the lineup. Corey thinks he's a #3, always has and has said as much. problem is he's not.

he has been most successful in the 7 spot: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6 ... pe=Batting

OBP at #3 is .302 - abysmal and untenable
