I've never been involved in something like that, though after moving to a different state I had a rival draft my football team in a league that won't enter the 21st century and go online with it. If anything, he did better than I'd hoped.
I did this in one of my leagues and played it straight. The worst thing was I forgot to start Pavano for him in the game he got pounded by the Red Sox (the 17-1 game.) I ended up losing ERA and WHIP by the slightest of decimals and lost the week 9-8

May, I must've tried real hard to get that T in there. It's not even next to the E...
You have to play it straight, but it is nice to get some tips from the manager ahead of time, so you know how he plays certain situations. Something as simple as which order he prefers his bench guys getting into the game. I do this with a friend of mine whenever I am on vacation for a week.
