Sounds broken to me. Take it back and demand a refund. Ipod's shouldn't "feel".
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
It's happened to me a couple of times. It means you need a new iPod. You've got to take it into an Apple Store and have it replaced.
At least that's what they told me. I hate iPods, and I hate Apple products. I bought a 40-gig and it's only given me trouble. I'm on my 4th one in under a year...

Try plugging it back into the computer. If that doesn't fix it, let the battery die out, then recharge it. Its happeend to me 4 times becuase I unplug the ipod without ejected it from the desktop. If that still doesn't work then go to the Apple store near you and ask them to look at it. Here is a link for a store locator.

Thanks but still nothing. I would let the battery die out but I don't know how, since it can't turn on. Visiting the local Mac store is a good idea though.

i am really lazy so i wont do the searching but i willing to bet there are a number of web forums out there with people as crazy about ipods as we are about fantasy baseball who would have a better idea what is wrong with it. i would suggest finding one of those forums and asking for a little help before buying a new one or paying for an expensive repair.
I was just scrolling through songs and it froze. That was at like 12:30, it's two hours later and it's still frozen. Plugging it into the computer doesn't work.
I've been waiting for the battery to die, but it's taking a damn long time. It better not be broken, I didn't drop it or anything. I was just scrolling through songs.
Believe me, I've been told by the people who work at Apple, if your iPod gives you a file folder with an exclaimation point, you need a new one. The HD is corrupted. There's no way to save it.
