i dont think that clement is going to do too much this season. last year looks to have been a career year of sorts, and with the cubs having a bunch of depth in their minor league systems.. i think he's feeling the heat. this is, perhaps, the first season where expectations for him have been higher than the crowd at woodstock... so i think the pressure is on him to be a 2 ER moderately high K rate pitcher, and i dont think he's really up to the task. one of hte knocks i heard about the guy is that he's a headjob.. he has the stuff, but he never seems to put it all togehter consistently. last year he was a surprise, but this season when cubs fans are like "we've got wood, prior, clement" it's just not working out for him. we'll see what the next chapter in his storybook has in about 20 minutes. i have the sinking feeling that he's going to allow a minimum of 3 ER today.
even though there is a big expos logo under my name, i can't lie to you and say that livan is anything special. he's never really proven himself to be an upper echelon fantasy pitcher, and i dont think that a move to montreal suddenly has turned him into a top of the rotation gem. so i wouldn't have any problem dropping livan... as for clement, just don't expect a 2.25 era from him during any prolonged stretch and you be ok.
i'd drop either of them in a heartbeat for my new infatuation, mister dontrelle willis. or hell, johan santana is getting a start... he's likely taken in like 65% of the leagues out there, but if he's sitting there, he's worth a shot. he's the best dang SP on the twins.
