Michael Young out a couple games??

Jun. 21 Michael Young (SS) Tex left the Rangers immediately after Monday's game to return to Texas to be with his wife, Cristina Barbosa, who was close to giving birth to the couple's first child, according to the Dallas Morning News. "Michael will come back when he feels comfortable," manager Buck Showalter said. "Cristina giving birth supersedes anything that's going on here. We understand that."

Jun. 21 With Michael Young leaving the Rangers indefinitely to be with his pregnant wife, Mark DeRosa (3B) Tex will likely start at shortstop until Young returns, according to the Dallas Morning News.

I can't imagine he'll be gone too long, but it sucks for owners in weekly leagues.

Ripken probably just had his wife induced after a game a couple of weeks early. That way he could be there and not miss the game. But he was a team player, unlike Michael Young. He should have just brought his wife down to a back room in the clubhouse and she could have had the kid between innings...

Or maybe I'm just bitter because I have no backup at SS.
