In a not so suprising move, the Cubs sent Juan Cruz to triple A Iowa. The move made room for Mark Guthrie to be activated from the DL. This also means Todd Wellemeyer will stay in the bull pen.
Cruz has a 1-2 record with a 6.29 ERA and 16 relief apperances with the Cubbies this year. At Iowa, Cruz will work on his arm strength and stamina. He will try to make the transition from the pen to starting.
