That happened in my league last year, it was with 2 teams actually.
What happened was though that the owners told everyone in advance they were out and all their players went into a draft situation where each team got to take a pick at them. It was only 2 rounds and the rest went to the waiver wire. I think that way worked out for our league, we called it the rule 5 draft because it happened over the all star break.
None of that made a difference in the league though, the team that won didn't use any of those players so it all didn't matter in the end. This year we tossed 1 of the 2 owners, we kept the one because hes been in the league a long time.

It happened to me in one league. We had a waiver free for all since no one could figure out what to do. We have a commish but he's clueless and ineffective.
I managed to grab 3 or 4 of them, but the guys I dropped are doing better then the ones I grabbed.
Oh, well. The free for all was fun anyway.

That is what I suggest also. We had a member quit in our league this year and that is what we did. It is a keeper league so next year at draft time all those players will go back into the draft.
