Mets placed second baseman Kaz Matsui on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with a severely bruised left knee.

Mets activated LHP Dae-Sung Koo from the 15-day disabled list.

Mets released RHP Mike DeJean.

Mets purchased the contract of outfielder Gerald Williams from Triple-A Norfolk.

Should get by OK at 2B with Woodward and Anderson platooning. Only thing is that it makes our bench weaker with Gerald Williams now in the mix.

DeJean being released, it was only a matter of time. He brought nothing to the table three months into the season. Hopefully Koo can be decent, his April wasn't that bad.

Good riddance to DeJean, I say. That guy was just awful.

I like Keppinger myself. Not exactly sure why they didn't go that route. But, whatever. He'll contribute to our wonderful young IF by next season, I think.

Yeah the timing of Keppinger's injury really sucks. :,-( This would have been an awesome opportunity for him.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Plus we could have used him as a chip in some deadline moves.
