Freel has been driving me crazy. When he does play, he's good for a 290+ BA and a ton of runs and steals. Look at his stats for the year and project them over a full year of at-bats. He'd be one of the most valuable infielders in baseball.
To date, in only 181 at-bats, he's hitting 287 with 2 HR, 9 RBI, 39 runs, and 21 steals. Project that over the usual 625 at-bats for a leadoff hitter, you'd get 7 HR, 31 RBI, 134 runs (!), and 72 steals (!). Now, I realize you just can't project numbers up like that, but the projection does give an indication of what a fantasy monster Freel could be if he got more at-bats.

And leaves us owners of him all the more frustrated that he doesn't get more... <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>
Agreed Its incredibly frustrating. Good thing is that he's a great fill in at any position and in my points league since I have Vidro on the DL he is really good. He has as many points as Iguchi with like 100 less AB's...I have weeks as well so hopefully A:\ Freel gets traded B:\They start playing him until vidro gets back.

I basically have Freel and Furcal as the only players on my team threatening to steal (with Weeks looking like he can run, too) so when Furcal isnt' getting on base and Freel isn't playing, in a H2H league, that's one category I get to say goodbye to
