Ethics when playing with newbies

So the guy who droppe Mags in the first place hasn't said anything about it being unfair, right?----its some other owner. It sounds like sour grapes to me. You might want to ask the original mags owner how he feels about the situation. I might be inclined to give him back to the guy - if he is doing really badly this year, cause that sucks for the newbie. You didnt do anything wrong though.

I'm one of those bleeding hearts who is always whining about doing the right thing, like fantasy baseball actually matters. But I can't remotely see anything you did wrong here. The fact that you went to the trouble to even post this and solicit other people's views is exhibiting way more class than that guy who is whining to you.

You didn't do anything wrong at all, and there is no need for you to take any type of action.

However, I do feel the frustration of Mr. 4th Place. Playing in a league with idiots is irritating as hell. Bonds being cut for no reason at all (since his owner had a DL spot) is ridiculous.

if no rules were broken, nothing unethical was done.

Pure and simple.

Nothing unethical at all... it's not like you traded them Juan Gonzalez for the player, you just used your WW priority wisely. As far as the FA pickup if they wanted him, they could have used the WW to grab him, but apparently nobody did, so why whine about it now?

Next this guy will want you to change the newbies diapers!

I don't think Johan Santana says to himself "I'll just lob it in there. I don't want to be too hard on the rookie."
It is my belief that fantasy baseball should reflect real baseball in as many ways possible. Beating on rookies is part of the deal.

Besides, you're not beating down or taking advantage of anyone. Every member of your league had a chance to grab Maggs, first off waivers and then again when he cleared. I'd verbally abuse the guy who's complaining. I'd expose him for the whining pansy that he really is.

...nothing like this would happen in the Dugout.

Exactly. If this guy is so high on you keeping Maggs on your DL, why didn't he claim him off waivers in the first place?

you read the rules before you play things.

its like complaining that a more experienced chess player captured en passant or castled or something. just because the newbie didn't understand something subtle, doesn't mean you have to rescind it. the level playing field only refers to the rules being posted and everyone having the same roster size etc. it doesn't refer to foresight.
