I had 5 SPs on the DL at the same time.
Record last week for my only SPs (Pedro & Contreras) 4 starts no wins K/9 6.67 WHIP 1.64 ERA 7.07. Seven different spot starters 4 wins K/9 7.15 WHIP 1.58 ERA 3.69. Spot starting has kept this team competative. If your like me, have no other choice, try spot starting.

If you really, really have no other choice.
It still feels a little, I don't know, sleazy to me.
As long as it's done in restraint. I had a guy in a Yahoo public H2H pick up about three starters a day for a week to top me in wins and strikeouts in the final round. That jerk.
But in your situation, seems unavoidable.

Even if you do find some good matchups, etc. spot starting has good chances of hurting your team also. If you in like 2nd or 3rd in a roto league and only behind by a couple points then I totally recommend it since you don't have much to lose, but if your trying to keep a lead I would definitely not do it.
I think spot starting about as sleazy as waiver wire blocking. I only do that when the person I'm playing is a spot starter to block him. Its all within the rules, i mean major league teams do it, the Twins claimed Soriano to block other teams form getting him. But in your situation dire situation call for dire methods.
How can changing your line-up daily. to get good match-ups, be sleezy ? That's what managing is all about. Today I am sitting Shef and playing Mench. Yesterday I sat Shef and played Monroe. Craig gave me a 2 run shot. I guees my risky choice of players in the line-up is sleezy. Aren't you changing your line-up and roster from time to time. Or, is that just done by sleezbags like me.
By the way, in most of my leagues I spot started Brandon Claussen today. Any other manager could have picked him up yesterday and tommorow they can claim him on waivers.
I am sure their are some are saying that sleezy mother picked-up another 2nd teir FA pitcher and got a good game out of him. Isn't there a rule against that. Sure should be. Your supposed to set your opening day line-up and 180 days later see how your team did. That's real fantasy baseball. None of these Match-ups and FA pick-ups should be allowed. That's sleezy, don't you know ?
