Chris Shelton...real deal?

Postby wkelly91 » Sun Jun 19, 2005 8:50 pm

He hit his second homerun in as many nights and is hitting over .300. I just picked him up in my league, he is catcher and firstbase eligable.

Thoughts :-?

I think as a Catcher eligible player, he could be very valuable there. He could even help you out at 1B depending on who you have. Worthy of a look in ML leagues with 10-12 teams or more, for certain. Unfortunately Yahoo! only has him at Util. eligibility at this point...

i thought he was going to take over 1b duties when they sent down pena...hasn't really worked out that way. he still seems to be getting some playing time, but not starting every day.

anybody with some insight, here? i would love an excuse to drop pierzynski...and i keep eyeballing shelton. LOVE that multi-position eligibility.

shortly after i brought this up again, shelton homers. no tigers fans in the house? where's the scoop?

Shelton was supposed to be platooning at 1B with "Da Meat Hook" Dimiti Young. If he is catcher eligible in you league I would grab him.

The Tigers management know already that Shelton was born to hit. He is now starting to prove that he belongs in the line-up as much as possible.

I don't see him getting any playing time at catcher though.

He's playing almost every day, I think he's sat once in like the last two weeks. Either at DH or 1b.

No. He's the 4th catching option.
