what's the best place to start a keeper league? preferably head to head.

as much as i dislike the site, cbs sportsline has some great options for keeper leagues. the site remains active all year and it has several commish controls to make keeper drafts run more smoothly than yahoo. i am in 2 yahoo keeper leagues, one for 5 years now, though and it has worked pretty good. it requires a bit more effort and some creativity, though.

Are you looking for free or for pay? We've been running CBS Sportsline for about 4 or 5 years for both baseball and football. Can't really say we can complain, especially since they've gotten better over time, by "upgrading" their service. It costs money to have it hosted, however.

It also depends on if you want points based or category. We've had a points based, so I don't know much about the cat aspect.

You could probably run your own keeper off of Yahoo! or whatever by having the commish put "keeper" players from the previous year on someone's roster when the year begins. I don't know of any free keeper sites. I don't even know if Yahoo! allows you to run a keeper.

I help run a Yahoo! Keeper League, which is free (well, we have our own money system, but the league itself is free to play). The way we do our keepers is this...

The week before fantasy playoffs start, each team designates their 6 keepers. We make a record of it and send it to each owner. Then, when the next season starts, we just set the draft up so that last place picks first, etc. etc. and our first 6 picks MUST be our designated keepers. After that, we draft normally.

We do the same thing with football, and they both work out spectacularly. We've been doing it for about 7 years now.
