He has walked 6 times already this week. Granted, I would rather him walk then Strikeout, but you can't put up numbers when you don't swing the bat.
What I think is happening is that early in the year every pitcher knew that you could throw breaking balls way off the plate or in the dirt and he would swing at them. After a few weeks of walking all the time, pitchers are going to realize that they are going to have to put stuff over the plate. so, if he can keep this discipline up, he will be getting ahead in counts and will eventually be getting more pitches to hit.
anyone agree with my diagnosis?

Walks are a sign that he's seeing the ball well again. He's always had a fairly high walk rate. Now, they do cut down on the number of ab's he's going to get, but if he's seeing the ball well, then he's only swinging at good pitches. I'll take that any day of the week.
