Hernandez (sore left wrist) will miss at least a few days and could be headed to the DL, the Padres' official web site reports.

Jun 22 Hernandez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the San Diego Padres, retroactive to June 18. The catcher has been sidelined since spraining his left wrist while sliding back to first base in a game against the Minnesota Twins last Friday. Until Hernandez is back behind the plate for the Padres, Robert Fick and Miguel Ojeda will split the catching duties.

Advice: Hernandez will be eligible to come off the DL early next month. Filling his roster spot will be outfielder Paul McAnulty, who was recalled from Double-A Mobile on Wednesday. In 63 games this season, Hernandez is batting .280 with seven home runs and 33 RBI.
