Now that helton went 2-4 today, and homered yesterday... it looks like the guy might be breaking out of his slump...
Given that owners in many leagues are practically giving Helton away or just throwing him in to deals, is this week the last chance to get him dirt cheap?
i don't know, but i'm a helton owner and been offering trades like my helton + hermanson + fuentes 4 david ortiz, my helton + hermanson + fuentes 4 sexson + lowe, and my helton + hermanson + garland 4 his teixiera + maddux.
so far, the first 2 got rejected, and the 3rd owner hasn't responded yet. even with the homer and 2 doubles, i'm still leaving that 3rd one on the table. i got enough closers anyway (hoffman, hermanson, dempster, fuentes, brazoban) and i think garland won't finish the season with a lower than 4.00 ERA.
If you can get him cheap, I think you're wise to do so. Many owners are fed up with him this season, so he could be the steal of the year if he turns it around. If you get him low enough, even if he doesn't turn it around, it's at least worth chancing it on a talent such as Helton.

one of the leagues that I am in a guy dropped Helton and I got him with a #9 priority, now my team is perfect offensively, I Re-Aquired Abreu and now have 5 1st round picks..
If you can get Helton cheap than I would deffinately do it
It is going to take more then 3 hits in 2 days to convince me that he is back to his old self Still I am trying to shop him in one league and get him in another
Honestly, we're talking about a guy who's most likely an HOFer and at 31 he's still in his prime. He's in a slump, and he'll break out of it. If you can get him low, you should do it ASAP. You'll be patting yourself on the back in a month.
