Why the heck has Cox put Reitsma in the last two games? Both were non-save situations and Kolb hadn't pitched yet. Why pitch your closer three straight days if you're not using him for save situations? Is this because of lack of confidence in Kolb to even start the ninth?
Yeah, I guess... I understand that Cox is not worried about saves as a statistic, but most managers would throw another guy out there until he gets into a little trouble. Now, if it's a close game tomorrow night, he probably won't be able to go with Reitsma... But, then again, most managers haven't won their division for 14 years in a row...
A) Cox doesn't really seem to trust anyone right now besides him, even with a 4-5 run lead.
B) With Sosa pitching on short rest, and only able to go 4.1, they needed 4.2 from the bullpen - which meant for the 9th, he could use a rookie called up from AA this week, Kolb or Reitsma - and with the Braves struggling right now, Cox didn't want to riak a win against a team in a ballpark that has shown the ability to score runs in bunches.
C) With the off day, Cox feels he can get a third straight from Reitsma if need be.

remember one thing.... bobby cox is more worried about the win then he is the save.... bobby does not care about us fantasy owners at all,,, he just wants the braves to get the win.... and with kolb as his only other option for the 9th inning, i would have gone with reitsma as well....
Bernero came in the game in the 8th tonight, and promptly blew Reitsma's save opp. Oh well, it gives Reitsma a chance to have at least two days of rest.
