Anyone know who the rookie is that he is referring to from todays EPSN article?
"We went into this draft thinking that the game is going to change back," adds an AL GM. "We were also very careful about looking into the backgrounds of some of the bigger kids," as everyone in baseball has noticed that one rookie is nowhere near as strong as he was at the time he was drafted.
I think he means a generic rookie in this context. As in, every manager knows at least one rookie that has been underperforming. It's probably not just one mysterious uber-loser.

sounds to me like he's referring to one person in specific, could be AL or NL though. also doesn't say he's underperforming, just very noticeably weaker.............
Clint Barmes COL NL
Joe Mauer MIN AL
Jason Ellison SFN NL
Damon Hollins TBA AL
Ryan Church WAS NL
Wilson Betemit ATL NL
Tadahito Iguchi CHA AL
Michael Morse SEA AL
Lance Niekro SFN NL
Aaron Hill TOR AL
Victor Diaz NYN NL
Garrett Atkins COL NL
Willy Taveras HOU NL
Robinson Cano NYA AL
Humberto Cota PIT NL
Mike Edwards LAN NL
Bradley Hawpe COL NL
Jonny Gomes TBA AL
Freddy Sanchez PIT NL
Russ Adams TOR AL
Nicholas Swisher OAK AL
Of that list, I'd guess Hawpe. Was a power hitter throughout the minors, but has struggled hitting HR in COL. Career SLG of .427 for a guy who was always above .500 in the minors.

Either him or Swisher, but McPherson seems like the likely candidate since PG was talking about a big kid.
Dallas is 6'4", 230 lbs, and has a whopping 6 homers in 168 AB's. Swisher's the only other "highly touted" rookie who's really flopping, but from the sound of it, Gammons is talking about D-Mac.
