Up to date "Buy low" list

Postby Armed and Hammered » Fri Jun 17, 2005 3:07 pm

Was wondering who people thought were still good buy low guys for this year? Some guys have already heated up but are there any guys you still think will turn it around completely at some point? The obvious ?'s are Helton, Lowell, Berkman....etc. Anyone have any thoughts?

If the guy is still buy low, that means he may not be recovering.....

Saying that, I just traded for Helton(but I can afford to let him ride my bench).

So:

Helton
Berkman
Beltran
Pierre
Huff
Marcus Giles
Renteria (but I'm not a fan)
Rolen
Javy
Beltre

Schmidt
Prior
Schilling
Sheets
Foulke
Hudson
Harden
Oliver Perez

Beltran = second half stud and all the extra smack talk is bringing his value down farther. Nice and cheap :-D

You know what all of those guys have in common? I don't own any of them in either of my big money leagues that I'm in first place in ;-D

Yeah, Ichiro is a big one. I can tell you right now, I'm getting kind of fed up with his lack of production. He's obviously going to turn it around, but if I were offered 3rd, 4th or 5th round pitching talent for him, I'd probably jump all over it.

I'm sure there are less patient owners than me out there and they're probably looking to unload Ichiro for anything decent. I mean, right now, he's hitting .300 (a lot worse over the last month) and those high number of AB's really kill the batting average. It's worth a try...

;-D

In various leagues I have picked up off waviers Ol Perez, Huff, Javy, Berkman, Renteria, and Giles. In others I have dumped the last 3 listed.

I like that one buy low list in the second post, it had a lot of my guys on it, or at least guys that I'm going to get.

My buy low highlight of the season so far was my Tino Martinez for his Vernon Wells, I definately got the better of that deal with Wells playing nicely and Tino falling into obscurity. I'm going to try and catch lightening in a bottle twice, I placed a claim on Jason Schmitt in my league, yes he is on the waiver wire and he may be on my team for the weekend. Getting him for nothing of the wire would be the ultimate buy low, that is if he can figure out how to pitch again.

I wish someone would buy Schmidt from me low.
