J Mauer & V Martinez

Can either one of these guys go on a little bit of a hot streak please so I can trade one of them... They're like a speculative stock right now that just shows a flicker of upside and then comes back to being pretty lame that noone will buy. That and personally, I can't decide who to start regularly. I've been starting Mauer and going with VMart against lefties since he has better splits there and sometimes Mauer just doesn't play... I can't drop one of them because they're too good to make it to FA. <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

Anyone have an idea as to why these 2 guys are being so frustrating to their owners? I thought they'd be Top 5 catchers this season... Now they're top 5 headaches...

Mauer has been excellent thus far for me. His off days are pretty set and I've been plugging in my backup catcher every day Mauer's sitting. I think there's only been one day this year where I wasn't able to find out Mauer was sitting the morning of the game.

I have Mauer Doumit and Piazza.

Its frustrating cause I have to see how is playing..Half the time I have to start piazza at first cause Gibbons sits for SURHOFF!!?!?

So then I have to put Mauer definitly at catcher but he doesn't start 1/4 of the time..so then I put in doumit...confusing and annoying yes.

Ok, a view from the V Mart side of things. First off, I'm kicking myself for not trading him on draft day when people still though he was good, and secondly for not taking Mauer straight up for him when I had the chance.

I'd like to hope that martinez heats it up at some point to repay my loyalty (stupidity) but that seems to no be on the horizon. I'd still rather have mauer than martinez at this point, but both seem to be over hyped garbage right now.
