Good to see Graves give up a three spot in the bottom of the 8th to give Looper the save opp..

Thanks for choosing the Mets Danny!

As long as Graves is used only in situations when the Mets are up at least 6 I am okay with the signing... Goodness sakes.

I wasn't really worried before Graves anyway. There's been so much talk in the fantasy community about how ineffective Looper is and how the Mets were shopping for a closer even before the season, etc.

Everyone needs to drill this into their heads. Looper is the Mets closer for 2005. They won't trade for someone else to close. Period.

Yeah, I agree Yoda

The guy goes out there maybe once a week and still looks pretty sharp. I'm happy to own him.

When I logged on and saw that 'effort' by Graves, I just thanked my stars that I'm not facing Looper's owner in H2H this week. Man, what a gift save.

Well, he set up a save situation today - but how many times will he cost Looper a save opportunity? Wagner lost a few early in hte season when Worrell was having his issues.

So, if he keeps pitching as he has, in the long run, I think Looper will be more disappointed now that Graves is on the team.

graves is wretched. the reds played with fire for too dmn long, should have sold him when other people believed, but no...that would have been too forward-thinking for this bass-ackward management.

the mets hurt themselves by signing him. i'm not talking money. i'm talking about the numbers he will inflict upon that team.

he sabotages anyone's good effort. BLECH. he is a flyball sinkerball pitcher. that's not a good combination. :-t

FYI, Graves should have been out of the inning with no damage if not for Daubach's throwing error. In his first appearance with the Mets, he pitched a 1-2-3 inning.

I doubt the Mets use Graves all that much when the game is close. A blowout like this one was, is just fine though. Sets up Looper for the save. :-)
