He probably will at some point, but he has easily wasted his baseball career. The kid was so talented to, most every scout thought he was better then Delmon and look where they both are now.

From what I've read about Ham, he is/was certainly more talented than Delmon. A more rounded toolset...true five tool player. Scouts question whether Delmon's going to have that much speed as he continues growing...Ham was supposed to hit for a higher average, too.

It really is a shame. If he has a shot at returning, I doubt it's with Tampa, though I wouldn't give up on him personally. He just got arrested for dinging up a friend's windshield a month or two ago, by the way.

Very talented player, sad to see this has happened to him. Coming out of high school, he was considered the best prospect since A-Rod, and when he went 3-4 in the Futures Game in 2000, it was a glimpse of the future. He was NOT a better offensive prospect than Young though, most scouts had Delmon graded out higher in that area, but in terms of overall ability, he was rated very highly. Of course, now that Young has lost some weight and increased his speed and range in the OF, that might have to be reassessed. Either way, both players have/had amazing talent.
