Is it time to give up on Beltran?

He is still theoretically capable of going 20-20 after the break. If you think you can get close to that in anyone you could get in a Beltran trade, you're nuts. Just have to wait him out.
In a classic "buy low, sell high" trade, I just got Beltran AND Ben Sheets for Carlos Lee (who I think will also be great in the second half, mind you).
I wasn't even the one who made the offer.

and I just saw my main competition get vlad for foulke and torii hunter.

His batting average is 24 points higher after the ASB
Slugging is 71 points higher
and OPS is 100 points higher 8-o

Also has more SBs and triples in a significantly less amount of games after the ASB. Hopefully this trend carries on to this year as well.

I took him #4 in front of Vlad, and I don't even think about trading him because I wouldn't get any value.....just have to sit back and wait (hope) for the explosion!

I don't think there's much you can do with Beltran right now besides hold him a hope for a turn-around. His trade value is too low right now to make a deal worthwhile, unless you're prepared to sell him really cheap. While he's fallen miles short of expectations, he has been decent (unlike Helton and VMart) so he's not a total bust. He's not gonna hurt you in any categories. Just hold and hope for better times.
