Is Joey still dinged up for Da Bulls? Was watching this close too, especially w/ Sanchez released and all the other moves....

Last I heard from rotoworld was:
Joey Gathright (oblique) was placed on Triple-A Durham's disabled list.
The move is retroactive to June 5 because he strained his oblique muscle during an at-bat last week.

Gathwright absoluetly tore it up when he had his last stint in the bigs, and I'm holding onto him in a keeper league with minors rosters, so any info is appreciated.

Gathright (oblique strain) is still on the DL at the Devil Rays' Triple-A Durham affiliate, and has not played since June 2.

Gathright suffered the injury during an at-bat in a game at Syracuse on that date. There has been much hue and cry in the baseball analysis industry over the Rays' promotion of Reggie Taylor to the majors on June 7, with many suggesting that Gathright would have been a better choice for a callup. By and large, they're right, but since Gathright had been placed on the DL two days before Taylor was promoted, he obviously wasn't an option. The Rays have not released a projected return date for Gathright.

Gathright might be the fastest baseball player alive. He was 134-for-176 in steal attempts (76 percent) in just 262 career minor league games before coming up to the bigs last year. That makes him, at worst, as valuable as Alex Sanchez if he gets playing time, since he's delivered an OBP of .384 or better at each minor-league stop. With limited power, he'll have to do the same in the majors to remain a big leaguer. The signing of Danny Bautista by the Devil Rays lessens the likelihood that Gathright starts regularly. He hurt his shoulder in the AFL, but it doesn't seem that will keep him out of spring training.

Lou seems to have a bias against younger players and those that do get called up only see limited playing time.
